Your Community, Your Home
“My husband and I lived in Plymouth for thirty years and built many wonderful memories in our home. Last year, we decided it was time to downsize and look at condos in Minneapolis. We spent several months looking and decided on The Portland Tower for a variety of reasons.
First, we love the location. We have easy access to freeways and the downtown skyway is only two blocks away. I personally love the skyways because I can leave our condo and get exercise, go shopping or meet friends during all times of the year. I also enjoy the character of the Elliot Park neighborhood because it’s one of the oldest neighborhoods in Minneapolis. The Portland Tower is also conveniently located near parks, the U.S. Bank Stadium, Stone Arch Bridge and the light rail – everything we need is right within our reach! Finally, as a retired school teacher, volunteering is very important to me and House of Charity Food Center is only two blocks away.
Aside from the great location, there are many things I love about our condo. We have a spectacular view of downtown. I still can’t believe I can see the Foshay Tower while having my morning coffee! My husband and I enjoy grilling and spending time on our large balcony. When we retreat back in to our condo, we can still have a nice fresh breeze coming in through our windows. Another selling point of the building is the dog area on the fifth floor. Our dog had no problems adjusting to the area and it’s so convenient to let her out during all seasons. It’s attention to these types of details that makes The Portland Tower special.
The building is very secure and everyone we meet that works here is warm and welcoming, particularly the construction workers. All the construction workers always put the residents first and they are extremely professional. Every time I come into the building, Nicole, the office manager greets us with a warm welcome and a smile – which makes us feel like we’re home. We are so happy to be living here and look forward to meeting our new neighbors.”
Portland Tower Feels Like Home
“We were looking for a new, upscale condo somewhere downtown and came across Portland Tower in East Town. Admittedly, we didn’t know too much about this pocket of the city but soon realized all the items on our ‘wish list’ that Portland Tower checked off. Within the development’s four walls, we have everything we were looking for…a new condo that we could customize to make our own, high-end finishes, views of the Minneapolis skyline, indoor parking, building security, outdoor community spaces, and an exercise room.
Outside of the four walls doesn’t disappoint, either. I love that I get a little taste of everything in this neighborhood. We are sports fans, and enjoy taking in the energy and excitement from the Vikings crowds at US Bank Stadium. It’s also important that we have access to open, green spaces. We thought that would be hard to come by when we moved downtown, but we were wrong.
Commons Park is only a couple blocks from Gold Medal Park, which puts you right at the Mississippi River with its miles and miles of bike paths. Another important “must-have” that this location offers is convenience. Whether the skyways or the highways, it’s essentially right outside our front door. It’s been an incredible adventure moving in to Portland Tower and creating a new lifestyle for ourselves. We’ve come across several other condo owners who were in similar situations as we were, and we’ve enjoyed getting to know our new surroundings and our new neighbors.
Portland Tower feels like home…inside and outside our four walls.”
